Aiyuk, an All-Pro talent, could soon be on the move
The New England Patriots are reportedly one of two teams with a framework of a trade set for San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk, according to NBC Sports Bay Area. The 49ers have also negotiated a potential trade with the Cleveland Browns, a league source told NBC.
Aiyuk, a rising star in the NFL, has been the subject of trade rumors for weeks. The 24-year-old receiver has been with the 49ers since 2020 and has consistently put up impressive numbers, including 826 receiving yards and five touchdowns in 2022.
The Patriots are in need of a wide receiver after trading away N'Keal Harry and Kendrick Bourne earlier this year. Aiyuk would be a significant addition to the Patriots' offense, providing quarterback Mac Jones with a reliable target.
The Browns are also interested in Aiyuk, who would bolster their receiving corps alongside Amari Cooper and Donovan Peoples-Jones. The Browns have been looking for a playmaker on the outside to help quarterback Deshaun Watson.
The 49ers are expected to make a decision on Aiyuk's future in the coming days. The Patriots and Browns are both reportedly willing to give up significant assets to acquire the talented receiver.
