American Idol Season 18 Winner Crowned in First At-Home Finale

Sunday nights May 17 American Idol finale crowned the season 18 winner in a first-of-its-kind at-home finale. The Top five were announced to be Dillon James, Jonny West, Arthur Gunn, Francisco Martin, and Just Sam.

A Season of Surprises

This season of American Idol was full of surprises. In 2010, a then 24-year-old Lee DeWyze beat out Crystal Bowersox, Michael Lynche, and Casey James for the title. This year, the winner was crowned during bizarre last moments of the finale.

A Stay-at-Home Celebration

A stay-at-home celebration is not what anyone expected. However, American Idol has officially wrapped its 22nd season crowning Abi Carter as the latest winner. Carter, crowned on Sunday night, is the first winner of the at-home finale.
